Senior Accountant – Direct Tax

About the role

The Senior Accountant – Direct Tax will work closely with the Tax Supervisor to ensure accurate tax compliance across multiple European jurisdictions. The role involves preparing tax returns, posting US GAAP tax balances, and supporting internal and external audits.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare corporate income tax, trade tax and secondary tax filings in several European countries in partnership with external advisors.
• Generate Return to Provision (RTP) summaries, post authorized RTP entries, and adjust US GAAP tax provisions accordingly.
• Liaise with Avantor Corporate Tax in the US and act as the point of contact for statutory accountants during audits.
• Reconcile tax payable/receivable positions and communicate with tax authorities on notices.
• Prepare OneSource tax upload files and support tax audit activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in taxation, finance, economics, law or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of professional experience in tax accounting, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Strong analytical mindset, detail‑oriented approach and excellent English communication skills.
• Collaborative, solution‑driven attitude with the ability to adapt to changing tax regulations.
