SAP FICO Consultant – Vertex Tax Integration

About the role

We are looking for an experienced SAP FICO Consultant to lead the design and configuration of finance processes for a global Wave 2 rollout. The role focuses on integrating the Vertex tax engine with SAP finance modules and supporting the end‑to‑end tax lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead FICO design and configuration for GL, AP, AR, asset accounting and financial reporting.
• Configure SAP–Vertex tax integration, including tax procedures, tax codes, GL account determination and accrual handling.
• Support use‑tax accruals, self‑assessment and tax reconciliation between SAP and Vertex.
• Collaborate with the tax team on reporting, returns data extraction and audit trail requirements.
• Design and validate month‑end and period‑close processes impacted by tax posting logic.
• Drive functional testing cycles (unit, SIT, UAT, regression) for finance and tax scenarios.
• Assist with data migration, cut‑over, opening balance loads and post‑go‑live hypercare.
• Partner with OTC, MM/PTP and ABAP teams on cross‑module dependencies.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands‑on SAP FICO configuration.
• 5+ years of finance or tax domain experience.
• 1–2 years of experience integrating Vertex with SAP.
• Strong knowledge of core FI (GL, AP, AR, banking) and working knowledge of CO.
• Understanding of indirect taxes (sales/use tax, VAT/GST) and their flow through SAP.
• Proven experience in full‑lifecycle implementations or rollouts.
• Ability to work with global stakeholders and distributed teams.
