Safety Officer – Construction & Real Estate

About the role

The Safety Officer will lead the development and management of safety programmes across Century Real Estate’s construction sites in North Bangalore. This on‑site role ensures the health and well‑being of employees, contractors and visitors while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve safety programs and policies in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits and site inspections to identify hazards and verify compliance.
• Provide safety training on hazard communication, emergency procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Lead investigations of accidents, near‑misses and other incidents, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, investigations and corrective measures.
• Monitor changes in safety legislation and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance, including liaison with authorities.
• Develop and test emergency response plans for various scenarios.
• Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors and other stakeholders to embed safety considerations into project planning and execution.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of safety regulations and risk assessment.
• Proven experience conducting safety audits and inspections on construction sites.
• Ability to lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Familiarity with emergency response planning and regulatory compliance processes.
