Retail Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Retail Accountant to oversee daily sales reconciliation, accounting and reporting across our network of retail stores. The role ensures accurate recording of cash, card, UPI and payment‑gateway transactions, resolves discrepancies and supports month‑end closing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily reconciliation of cash, card, UPI, wallet and payment‑gateway transactions for all stores.
• Download and analyse daily sales, bank settlement and payment‑gateway reports; update store‑wise reconciliation trackers.
• Record accounting entries for sales, collections, refunds, chargebacks and related transactions.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation and MIS reports, including store‑wise variance analysis.
• Support month‑end closing by completing ledger scrutiny, account reconciliations and audit schedules.
• Liaise with store operations, banks, payment partners and internal teams to resolve transaction issues.
• Maintain documentation, audit trails and ensure compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements.
• Identify process gaps, recommend improvements and support automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CA Inter, CMA Inter or MBA (Finance) preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in retail accounting or a similar role.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting principles and financial reconciliation.
• Experience with cash, card, UPI and payment‑gateway transaction processing.
• Ability to work with spreadsheets and accounting software.
