Reliability & Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Reliability & Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the continuous, efficient operation of all refrigeration, power and electrical systems within the facility. This role involves executing preventive maintenance, diagnosing faults, and coordinating with equipment manufacturers to minimise downtime and maintain product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Execute planned preventive maintenance (PPM) for refrigeration units, including tropical, chilled and frozen rooms.
• Monitor and maintain temperature parameters in accordance with SOPs and respond to temperature excursion alarms.
• Inspect and service compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves and refrigerant piping; perform leak detection and defrost cycle management.
• Coordinate specialised repairs with OEMs and third‑party service providers.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in refrigeration panels, PLCs and Building Management System (BMS) interfaces.
• Maintain diesel generators and UPS systems, including fuel, battery health, load‑bank testing and firmware updates.
• Conduct electrical panel maintenance, insulation resistance testing, earth resistance testing and thermography surveys.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance and maintenance reports, including MTBF, MTTR and energy consumption analysis.
• Perform root‑cause analysis for recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
