Quality Engineer – Mechanical & Fabrication

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Quality Engineer to lead inspection and quality control activities for fabricated mechanical components, including steam turbine and generator parts. The role involves applying industry standards, conducting non‑destructive testing, and driving continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform quality control and inspection of fabrication components, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Utilize measurement instruments and conduct painting inspections.
• Apply ASME Section 9, welding procedure specifications (WPS) and procedure qualification records (PQR) to verify weld quality.
• Prepare Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) and detailed inspection protocols/CTQs.
• Conduct non‑destructive testing (VT, UT, MT, PT) as an ASNT Level II certified technician.
• Act as an internal auditor for ISO 9001, leading audits and corrective actions.
• Investigate quality issues using techniques such as GOF, RCA, LFF, 3H and Pareto analysis.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control and inspection of fabricated components.
• Hands‑on experience with measuring instruments and painting inspection.
• Knowledge of steam turbine and generator components.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Required skills

• ASME Section 9 knowledge.
• Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) expertise.
• ASNT Level II certification in NDT (VT, UT, MT, PT).
• Preparation of Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) and inspection protocols.
• ISO 9001 internal auditing.
• Investigative techniques: GOF, RCA, LFF, 3H, Pareto analysis.
