Quality Control Manager – Automotive Products

About the role
The Quality Control Manager will lead all quality activities at the Patalganga and Silvassa plants, ensuring premium automotive products meet the highest standards. Reporting to the Senior Manager Quality Control, you will collaborate with internal and external partners across operations, technology, procurement, packaging development, HSSE, and engineering.
Key responsibilities
- Drive collaboration with Operations to achieve target FTPR levels and critical plant metrics such as OEE and DPSA.
- Improve laboratory safety through QOCs, SOCs, toolbox talks and compliance with GRoS processes.
- Oversee plant quality control and assurance of packaging materials.
- Analyze and retain complaint samples received via the i‑Care portal.
- Monitor the quality management system, generate performance data, and ensure legal compliance.
- Facilitate commercialization of new products and formulation changes with ATP, planning, procurement and packaging teams.
- Implement QMS at laboratories and production lines according to ATP QA manual and GSC Q‑Stan.
- Maintain quality standards at the Silvassa plant and manage ISO audits.
- Lead root‑cause analysis of internal and external quality incidents.
- Establish mechanisms for capturing quality near‑misses and corrective actions.
- Lead the contingent quality control team and ensure product shelf‑life and raw‑material expiry management.
- Manage line‑flush oil and waste‑oil handling, and promote continuous improvement benchmarking.
Required profile
- Post‑graduate degree in Chemistry or a graduate degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 10 years of post‑qualification experience in FMCG/Lubricants industry in a similar role.
- Experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and EMS systems.
- Basic knowledge of statutory requirements such as hazardous‑waste management, petroleum rules and contract‑labour acts.
- Proven team‑leadership and ability to manage multiple activities concurrently.
- Strong presentation skills and experience interfacing with all organisational levels and external statutory bodies.
