Purchasing Specialist

About the role

Join FLSmidth’s Mission Zero initiative as a Purchasing Specialist, supporting the procurement of equipment and services that enable customers to move toward zero emissions in mining and minerals. You will work on a night shift (5 pm – 2:30 am) and collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and expediting teams.

Key responsibilities

• Examine and analyse departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy.
• Support team and individual KPIs through effective procurement processes.
• Conduct commercial and technical offer evaluations, negotiate terms, and optimise costs.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders such as Sales, Engineering, and Expediting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university.
• 1‑4 years of experience in procurement or purchasing.
• Strong time‑management skills to handle multiple deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills across all organisational levels.
• Knowledge of mining equipment is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with an ERP system; Oracle ERP experience is a plus.
• Competency in Microsoft Office suite.
