Production Manager

About the role

Sonic Lamb, a deep‑tech audio startup, is expanding its consumer and B2B audio product lines. As the Production Manager you will lead the in‑house assembly team, ensuring schedules are met, costs are controlled, and quality standards are upheld.

Key responsibilities

• Translate sales forecasts into weekly and monthly build schedules for in‑house assembly.
• Coordinate with supply‑chain to secure materials ahead of production runs and resolve shortages.
• Track work‑in‑progress, maintain production dashboards and MIS reports.
• Manage capacity utilisation, scaling lines up or down based on demand.
• Oversee day‑to‑day assembly operations, ensuring output targets, safety protocols and SOP compliance.
• Lead root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for stoppages, defects or rework.
• Track key production metrics (output, yield, scrap, rework cost) and own the production cost budget.
• Identify and drive cost‑reduction opportunities across labour, material usage and process efficiency.
• Lead, motivate and develop the production team, defining roles, conducting performance reviews and supporting skill development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Industrial or related Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in production or manufacturing, preferably in consumer electronics.
• Proven ability to plan, schedule and manage capacity in a fast‑moving environment.
• Experience handling production cost budgets and driving cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.
