Procurement Officer – Construction Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Procurement Officer to join our construction procurement team in Chennai. The role involves managing RFQs, supplier communications, and procurement data to support building projects across architectural, electrical, and mechanical trades.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and follow up on RFQs with suppliers.
• Collect, organize, and record supplier quotations and related documents.
• Prepare and process purchase‑related documentation as required.
• Professionally manage and analyse Excel files, including Pivot Tables, advanced formulas, and data validation.
• Prepare procurement reports and summary sheets to support purchasing decisions.
• Review supplier quotations for completeness, compliance, and pricing accuracy.
• Support the procurement team with bid comparisons, pricing analysis, and data entry.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments regarding clarifications, submissions, and updates.
• Maintain proper records for quotations, comparisons, and procurement status tracking.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement, tendering, quotation analysis, and supplier coordination within building construction projects.
• Strong experience handling RFQs, bid comparisons, pricing analysis, and procurement reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; an Excel test will be part of the hiring process.
• Knowledge of Power BI is an added advantage.
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Fluency in English; Arabic knowledge is a plus.
