Process Engineer – Pick & Place Programming & ESD

About the role

The Process Engineer will support Bosch’s Pick & Place manufacturing line in Bangalore, ensuring compliance with safety, legal and Bosch standards while driving continuous improvement in SMT production.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain manufacturing process compliance with legal, safety, customer and Bosch specifications.
• Program Pick & Place machines, generate NC data and operate DGS/SIPLACE software for setup and troubleshooting.
• Implement new product introductions and engineering changes, including layout updates, supplier changes and placement/polarity validation.
• Optimize product allocation across SMT lines based on technical feasibility and customer demand.
• Integrate machines with the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to ensure traceability and production control.
• Lead root‑cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D, 5‑Why and RCCA methodologies.
• Collaborate with global Bosch entities to share best practices as a CN representative.
• Drive ESD compliance through audits, measurements, reporting and corrective actions, and establish ESD standards for equipment and fixtures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in SMT Pick & Place programming and machine setup.
• Strong knowledge of NPI processes, engineering change implementation and product allocation.
• Ability to work with MES integration and ensure full traceability.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills using structured root‑cause methods.
• Good communication for cross‑plant collaboration and training on ESD controls.
