About the role
The Defect Metrology Application Engineer works within Applied Materials' Process Diagnostics and Control (PDC) group to support advanced imaging and defect detection for semiconductor manufacturing. The role involves close technical collaboration with leading chip fabs and contributes to product roadmap development.
Key responsibilities
- Maximize performance of defect metrology products by understanding customer use‑cases and providing technical guidance.
- Define specifications, validate performance, and influence product development roadmap through hands‑on testing and analysis.
Required profile
- Strong fundamentals in high‑NA DUV imaging, SEM, and light‑matter/electron‑matter interactions.
- Hands‑on experience in semiconductor fab environments with detailed knowledge of materials, processes, and defectivity.
Required skills
- High‑NA DUV imaging techniques.
- Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) operation.
- Light‑matter and electron‑matter interaction analysis.
- Semiconductor fabrication and defect analysis expertise.
