Chemist – Technical Program Management

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions, designing and building equipment for semiconductor and display manufacturing. The Chemist – Technical Program Management role in Bangalore will drive OLED material development and oversee technical programs that span internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Support and manage technical programs involving internal teams, universities, and material suppliers.
• Track technical progress, facilitate discussions, and provide structured updates to management.
• Drive alignment across stakeholders, facilitate decisions, and ensure timely execution of program milestones.
• Identify, evaluate, and engage external development or synthesis partners for OLED materials.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in material synthesis and OLED device development.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and work onsite five days per week.

Required skills

• Strong fundamentals in chemistry and materials science.
• Expertise in OLED materials, device physics, and evaporation processes.
• Hands‑on experience with material characterization techniques such as DSC, TGA, NMR, ATR‑IR, GC and melting point analysis.
• Knowledge of OLED device testing and performance evaluation.
• Ability to analyze experimental data and correlate material properties with processing conditions.
