PR Manager – Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) Brands

About the role

We are seeking a PR Manager to lead the communications strategy for a portfolio of fast‑growing direct‑to‑consumer (D2C) brands. You will own the narrative from product launches and founder positioning to crisis management, ensuring high‑impact media coverage in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute end‑to‑end PR strategies for multiple D2C clients, driving news coverage, interviews and feature stories.
• Build and nurture relationships with business, lifestyle and category journalists, editors and key media outlets.
• Lead media outreach, draft press releases and craft pitches that secure coverage.
• Manage founder and spokesperson positioning through bylines, interviews, panels and thought‑leadership opportunities.
• Anticipate reputational risks and lead crisis communications when required.
• Collaborate with client marketing and growth teams to align PR moments with product launches, funding announcements and campaigns.
• Track, analyse and report on media coverage, share of voice and campaign impact, translating results into actionable insights.
• Mentor a team of 3‑4 associates/executives on pitching, media relations and client servicing.
• Stay ahead of D2C industry trends, competitor activity and shifts in the media landscape.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of PR experience, preferably agency‑side, with exposure to D2C, consumer or lifestyle brands.
• Strong, active media relationships – able to name the top journalists you would contact first.
• Excellent writing and proofreading skills for pitches, press releases and bylines.
• Proven ability to manage multiple clients and stakeholders without dropping balls.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, lean‑team environment where ownership matters.
• Clear point of view on how D2C PR differs from traditional brand PR.
