Operations & Maintenance Engineer – Power Plant

About the role

The Operations & Maintenance Engineer will monitor and operate key plant systems at Adani Power’s thermal power facilities, ensuring optimal performance, safe start‑up and shut‑down, and compliance with environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor boiler, turbine, generator, balance‑of‑plant (BOP) and electrical systems to maintain optimal performance.
• Execute start‑up and shut‑down procedures for plant equipment as required.
• Observe plant parameters continuously and respond promptly to any deviations.
• Perform routine equipment changeovers and emergency drive trials.
• Handle emergencies related to Boiler‑Turbine‑Generator (BTG) and switchyard/grid issues, ensuring safe isolation and normalization.
• Operate and monitor the Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) system, maintaining accurate logbooks.
• Promote energy conservation by tracking Specific Oil Consumption, Auxiliary Power Consumption, de‑mineralised water usage and heat rate.
• Monitor critical chemistry parameters to ensure environmental compliance.
• Adhere to IMS, AWMS, DISHA, CHETNA guidelines and Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) procedures.

Required profile

• Ability to monitor plant parameters and take corrective action.
• Experience handling plant emergencies and equipment isolation.
• Knowledge of energy‑conservation metrics and environmental compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and permit‑to‑work systems.
