Operations Associate - Hedge/Alternatives Fund Administration

About the role

Apex Group, a fund administration and middle office solutions provider founded in Bermuda in 2003, is hiring an Operations Associate for its Hedge/Alternatives business. The role covers daily fund administration, accounting and reporting, and liaison with banks, auditors, investors and investment managers.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain proper records in line with internal and legal requirements.
• Operate bank accounts, initiate transfers and liaise with the bank.
• Prepare and review NAV at the required frequency using the accounting software PFS-PAXUS.
• Prepare accounts and tax computations and liaise with auditors; ensure final deliverables are accurate and complete.
• Issue NAV, contract notes and statements of holdings to investors and investment managers, and review them before issue.
• Deliver high-quality accounts in statutory format with all applicable disclosures.
• Complete day-to-day tasks on time, including monitoring tasks.
• Prepare and file annual returns, APS returns, PAYE, TDS, VAT and Indian tax returns by statutory due dates.
• Handle tax issues and queries from MRA, clients and other authorities.
• Deal with subscriptions, redemptions and share transfers.
• Coordinate the work of team members.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in the global business sector or an audit firm is an advantage.
• Degree, or completion/substantial completion of a professional ACA or ACCA qualification or equivalent.
• Client service mindset, good written and spoken communication, and ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
• Able to work under pressure and adapt to different environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Conversant with PFS-PAXUS.
