Lead, Unit Economics & NPV Strategy
FairMoney · Delhi
Job description
About the role
FairMoney, a mobile banking institution focused on credit to emerging markets, is hiring a Lead: Unit Economics & NPV Strategy. The role owns, improves and operationalises the company's NPV and unit economics frameworks so they become a core decision-making system rather than just analytical artefacts. It is a senior, high-ownership position for someone who challenges assumptions and thrives in a high-growth, high-pressure environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own, audit and improve NPV and unit economics models across lending products, with consistent assumptions and decision-ready outputs for pricing, credit cut-offs and capital allocation.
- Build frameworks to measure expected versus actual performance across products, cohorts, credit policies, pricing strategies and experiments, and feed insights back into risk and pricing decisions.
- Partner with Risk, Data Science, Product and Growth to define NPV hypotheses, measure incremental economic value and decide which initiatives to scale, improve or stop.
- Translate complex economic analysis into clear trade-offs and challenge models, policies and decisions when the economics do not support them.
- Embed NPV thinking into credit policy reviews, risk governance, pricing and limit discussions and planning cycles, with standards for transparency, documentation and assumption discipline.
Required profile
- Strong experience in unit economics, NPV, LTV or portfolio profitability (lending, fintech, banking or adjacent sectors).
- Deep understanding of credit economics and how risk, pricing, tenure and behaviour interact.
- Proven track record of measuring expected versus actual outcomes.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders using data and logic, with a high ownership mindset.
- Nice to have: experience in high-growth fintech or scale-ups, exposure to experimentation frameworks (A/B testing, policy and pricing tests), and experience working closely with Risk, Data Science and Growth teams.
Required skills
- Unit economics and NPV modelling
- SQL and/or Python (nice to have)
What we offer
- Paid time off
- Training and development
- Flexible work structure
The process includes a screening call, a technical interview with the hiring manager, a case study round and a panel session. By month 3, NPV models are audited and standardised and leadership sees where value is created or destroyed; by month 6, NPV actively drives credit cut-offs, pricing bands and growth investment trade-offs.
