Medical Officer – Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery

About the role

The Medical Officer CTVS will join the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery department at Pacific Medical College and Hospital, providing clinical support for pre‑operative and post‑operative patient care. This full‑time, on‑site position involves working closely with senior surgeons, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑operative and post‑operative assessments, monitoring, and documentation for CTVS patients.
• Assist senior surgeons and consultants in managing in‑patients and out‑patients.
• Coordinate diagnostic investigations and ensure compliance with clinical protocols and safety standards.
• Participate in ward rounds, manage emergency cases under supervision, and collaborate with anesthesiologists, nurses, and allied health professionals.
• Maintain accurate medical records, discharge summaries, and contribute to clinical audits and case presentations.
• Engage in teaching activities with students or trainees as required.

Required profile

• Recognized MBBS degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid registration with the appropriate medical council.
• Relevant clinical experience in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, critical care, or related surgical specialties (strongly preferred).
• Ability to work rotational shifts and manage emergency situations under supervision.
• Commitment to ethical practice, continuous learning, and participation in academic activities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ICU and step‑down unit protocols.
• Experience with clinical audits and case presentation preparation.
• Competence in detailed medical record documentation and discharge summary preparation.
• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision‑making abilities.
