About the role
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Level II supports the installation, assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment, automated machinery, robotic systems and industrial automation. The role aims to maximise equipment availability, reliability and productivity while complying with Cummins' health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Assemble, install, align, level and commission machinery and automation systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical components such as bearings, gearboxes, shafts, ball screws, linear guides and drive systems.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, pneumatic schematics and technical documentation.
- Install, troubleshoot and optimise pneumatic systems including cylinders, valves, FRLs, regulators, sensors and tubing.
- Support installation, maintenance, calibration and recovery of industrial robots and collaborative robots (cobots).
- Assist with End‑of‑Arm Tooling (EOAT) installation and optimisation.
- Conduct precision measurement activities (runout, flatness, parallelism, concentricity, alignment, repeatability) using specialised instruments.
- Analyse machine performance data, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in TPM, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and other continuous‑improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- High School Diploma, Certificate of Secondary Education, ITI, Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance or a related discipline.
