Mechanical Inspection Coordinator – Pressure Vessels & Piping

About the role

The Mechanical Inspection Coordinator will lead inspection activities for pressure vessels, piping systems, and related components from raw material stage to final delivery, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform stage‑wise inspection of pressure vessels, boilers, storage tanks and related components, reviewing documents such as QAP, WPS, PQR, WPQR and NDT procedures.
• Inspect piping systems for process plants, including dimensional checks, spool inspections at fabricators, and final leakage testing using hydraulic and pneumatic methods.
• Conduct inspection of ERW and stainless steel pipes according to ASTM, IS and API standards, covering raw‑material verification, ultrasonic testing, eddy‑current testing, hydro‑testing and mechanical testing.
• Verify bought‑out items such as flanges, fittings, valves and pumps, ensuring they meet relevant piping codes and product standards.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ASME Section VIII and other pressure vessel codes.
• Proficiency in Nondestructive Testing (NDT) techniques, including ultrasonic, eddy‑current and magnetic particle testing.
• Experience with welding inspection and joint fit‑up assessment.
• Ability to conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic leakage tests.
• Familiarity with ASTM, IS and API standards for pipes and tubing.
