Maintenance Technician – Mechanical & Electrical

About the role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of plant equipment through routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and rapid fault diagnosis. Working with schematics, test instruments, and safe work procedures, the role supports continuous production while minimizing downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and condition monitoring of plant and equipment.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults quickly and safely.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete job reports.
• Assist with plant installation, commissioning, and minor project works.
• Test and calibrate instruments and control systems as required.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and safe systems of work.
• Liaise with production teams to plan maintenance with minimal disruption.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory and raise purchase requests.
• Supervise external contractors to ensure work meets company standards.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems.
• Demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician.
• Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds.
• Strong grasp of general maintenance processes and methods.
• Experience operating equipment such as snow blowers, lawn mowers, and small hand tools.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• EPA technician certification required.
• Excellent manual dexterity and problem‑solving ability.
