Senior Project Engineer

About the role

ETAP is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to lead power system modeling, real‑time applications and automation projects for customers in the GCC region. The role combines engineering analysis, software configuration and on‑site commissioning to deliver reliable electrical digital twin solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, validate and maintain electrical network models and digital twins using ETAP or equivalent platforms.
• Perform power system studies such as load flow, short‑circuit, protection coordination, harmonic and transient stability analyses.
• Configure and commission real‑time power system applications, state and load estimation, ADMS/OMS functions and SCADA interfaces.
• Map and validate signals from SCADA/DCS/IED/gateway systems and troubleshoot data mismatches.
• Lead or support FAT/SAT, site commissioning, technical documentation and customer training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power or related engineering.
• 5–6 years of experience in power system studies, real‑time applications, ADMS/SCADA or power automation.
• Hands‑on experience with electrical network modeling and power system analysis tools.
• Professional proficiency in English and willingness to travel within the GCC.

Required skills

• ETAP (or similar) power system analysis platforms.
• Power system study techniques: load flow, short‑circuit, protection coordination, harmonic, transient stability, motor acceleration, voltage stability, arc‑flash.
• Real‑time applications: State & Load Estimation, ADMS, OMS, FLISR, VVO.
• SCADA/Automation configuration and integration.
• Communication protocols: IEC 61850, IEC 60870‑5‑104, DNP3, Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC UA/DA, ICCP/TASE.2.
• FAT/SAT planning and execution.
• IT/OT networking basics (VLANs, managed switches, IP addressing).
• Familiarity with PSS®E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, CYME, ASPEN OneLiner, Hitachi Energy/ABB Network Manager (advantage).
