Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Electrical Maintenance Technician ensures safe and reliable operation of plant utilities and production machinery by performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. This role focuses on minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment availability in an industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance on industrial electrical equipment, including motors, control panels, MCCs, PCCs, DBs, contactors, relays and breakers.
• Inspect wiring, cables, terminals, earthing and connections; replace defective components and restore equipment safely.
• Respond to machine breakdowns, diagnose motor‑control circuits, sensors, limit switches, solenoid valves and safety interlocks, and reduce mean‑time‑to‑repair.
• Perform basic PLC troubleshooting, verify I/O status, and assist automation engineers with PLC/HMI issues.
• Maintain VFDs, soft starters, encoders, temperature controllers, timers and other process‑control devices.
• Support plant utilities maintenance for compressors, chillers, boilers, pumps, HVAC, DG sets, UPS, lighting and emergency systems.
• Execute daily, weekly, monthly and annual preventive‑maintenance schedules, record findings and trigger corrective actions.
• Follow electrical safety procedures, EHS requirements and LOTO protocols before any work.

Required profile

• Experience in industrial electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with electrical safety standards and lock‑out/tag‑out practices.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams.
