Maintenance Technician I

About the role

CommScope is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to join its production site. The role involves ensuring the reliability and uptime of manufacturing equipment through preventive maintenance, breakdown response, and continuous improvement activities.

Key responsibilities

• Execute preventive maintenance (PM) schedules on production machinery.
• Respond to breakdown calls, troubleshoot quickly, and keep downtime within target limits.
• Maintain maximum equipment uptime and escalate unresolved issues to senior staff.
• Follow all safety and 5S standards, ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
• Track spare parts consumption and report any deviations.
• Work rotating three‑shift schedule, including night and weekend shifts.
• Set up new machinery or production lines and modify tools, fixtures, or equipment as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with 1‑3 years of experience, or a Diploma with 3‑5 years of experience.
• Hands‑on experience in installation, commissioning, PM and breakdown of fiber‑optic/cable machinery and related auxiliary equipment.
• Completed courses in electrical control systems, industrial automation, and a solid understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to work independently on shift and handle PLC and drive programming tasks.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead in a manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• PLC programming and drive configuration.
• Electrical control systems and industrial automation.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance.
• Gearbox, bearing, motor and lubrication expertise.
• Basic knowledge of fiber optics.
• Familiarity with SAP, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Excel (preferred).
• Understanding of Kaizen and 5S methodologies.
