Maintenance Technician – Chemical Industry

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the reliable operation of a chemical processing plant. You will work on both mechanical and electrical assets, ensuring uptime, safety and continuous improvement in a fast‑paced industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on pumps, valves, motors, gearboxes, instrumentation, electrical panels and PLC interfaces.
• Diagnose equipment faults, execute timely repairs and coordinate spare‑parts procurement.
• Carry out alignments, lubrication, part replacements and commissioning of modified or new equipment.
• Record equipment performance data in logbooks and CMMS, and participate in RCA/CAPA activities.
• Support energy‑efficiency, reliability and TPM initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow 5S/6S practices.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and local safety, environmental and quality regulations.
• Prepare shift handovers, work orders and incident reports; assist in investigations.
• Help with start‑up, commissioning and qualification of new or modified equipment.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a chemical or processing plant.
• Hands‑on experience with mechanical and electrical equipment in medium‑to‑large plants.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with basic control‑system concepts (SCADA/DCS/PLC).
• Understanding of preventive maintenance, CMMS usage and basic reliability principles.
• Strong problem‑solving, diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
• Effective communication, teamwork and willingness to work across shifts.
