Lead - Spare Parts

About the role

Exponent Energy is looking for a Lead - Spare Parts to head its spare parts business for automobile OEM operations in Bengaluru. The role covers end-to-end spare parts management, including inventory, dealer supply chain, pricing and parts warranty, with the aim of maximizing profitability, ensuring parts availability and driving customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Demand forecasting: set up robust models to balance high parts fulfillment with optimal inventory holding costs.
• Warehouse operations: oversee central and regional distribution centers for lean management and timely dispatch.
• Procurement collaboration: partner with Manufacturing and SCM teams to secure consistent supply of genuine components.
• Dealer distribution: optimize logistics so parts reach authorized dealers on time, and act as the main escalation point for dealers on availability, emergency orders and logistics issues.
• Order management: implement automated ordering systems to streamline dealer procurement.
• Pricing strategy: define pricing structures that balance competitiveness with OEM margins, benchmark competitors and design dealer incentive schemes and campaigns to grow parts revenue.
• Warranty and quality: oversee warranty claim validation, set policies for returns, core exchanges and scrap disposal, and track early failures to report systematic defects to quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
• Minimum 10-12 years in spare parts management within an automobile OEM, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, data-driven decision-making and knowledge of automotive dealer networks.
• Quality of work, structured problem-solving, ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment and resilience.
