Lead Security Engineer

About the role

BlueConic is building AI‑driven products and needs a Lead Security Engineer to protect the modern, agent‑assisted development lifecycle. Working closely with the CISO, you will embed security across product design, coding, and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Drive adoption of secure coding practices, especially for AI‑generated and AI‑assisted code.
• Conduct security assessments, threat modeling, and risk analysis for product features.
• Automate security processes using scripts, AI agents and skills to scale impact.
• Identify emerging vulnerability classes and develop preventive solutions.
• Build and maintain security tooling, automation, and monitoring, including custom agents for security workflows.
• Define guardrails and human‑in‑the‑loop checkpoints for agent‑driven code and infrastructure changes.
• Manage cross‑team security projects, breaking them into tasks and driving them to closure.
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents, coordinating remediation.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in security engineering or application security, with a track record of leading cross‑team initiatives.
• Deep understanding of risks unique to AI‑generated code and agentic workflows such as prompt injection and unauthorized privilege escalation.
• Hands‑on experience reviewing and verifying AI‑authored code in a production environment.
• Experience building or configuring custom agents or skills for security use cases.
• Strong knowledge of web application architecture and common security flaws as defined by OWASP and SANS.

Required skills

• AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) in production.
• Web application architecture and design principles.
• OWASP and SANS security standards.
• Vulnerability scanners, endpoint security tools, SIEM platforms, and monitoring solutions.
• Automation scripting for security workflows.
