Lead Coal Handling Plant Maintenance

About the role

The Lead Coal Handling Plant Maintenance role is responsible for ensuring high equipment availability and reliability across Adani Power's coal handling facilities. The position focuses on reducing failure rates, performing calibration and vibration analysis, and managing critical spare‑part inventories while supporting budget planning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead maintenance and operational excellence for coal handling plants.
• Track and reduce Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTR); improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Perform calibration and vibration analysis to ensure equipment reliability.
• Operate and maintain the Auto Coal Sampler Unit (ACSU) for accurate sampling.
• Generate work orders for painting, structural strengthening, and corrosion mitigation.
• Provide data for Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
• Manage spare‑part inventory, focusing on vital and essential items; reduce non‑moving inventory.
• Maintain stores inventory to support uninterrupted operations.
• Contribute inputs for budgetary requirements and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Implement IMS, AWMS, DISHA, CHETNA, Six Sigma, ABEM and LAKSHYA guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and breakdown defect (P1) rectifications.

Required profile

• Proven experience in plant maintenance, preferably in coal handling or thermal power environments.
• Strong understanding of reliability metrics such as MTBF, MTR and OEE.
• Experience with calibration, vibration analysis and operation of sampling equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage critical spare‑part inventories and reduce excess stock.
• Familiarity with budgeting processes and cost‑optimization in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of safety and risk analysis tools (RCA, FMEA, JSA) and adherence to preventive maintenance standards.
• Exposure to continuous‑improvement frameworks such as Six Sigma and company‑specific guidelines (IMS, AWMS, DISHA, CHETNA, ABEM, LAKSHYA).
