Kitchen Stewarding Associate

About the role

The Kitchen Stewarding Associate ensures that all kitchen and store‑room areas, equipment, and utensils are clean, sanitized, and ready for use. Working within Marriott's hospitality standards, you will operate cleaning equipment, manage waste, and support the culinary team by maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain dish‑washing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
• Wash, disinfect, and organize kitchen tools, knives, silverware, and other equipment using the 3‑compartment sink process.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables correctly, rotate stock, and ensure clean wares are stored in designated areas.
• Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items; re‑scrub and re‑wash any items that do not meet standards.
• Break down dirty bus tubs, empty trashcans, and manage dumpster areas.
• Clean and mop all assigned department floors and surfaces.
• Separate and dispose of glass, cardboard, and recyclables in appropriate containers.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents, and unsafe conditions to the manager and follow all safety policies.

Required profile

• No high school diploma or GED required.
• No prior work experience necessary.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Comfort standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods and reaching overhead or below the knees.
• Clear, professional communication skills and a collaborative attitude.

• Operation of commercial dish‑washing equipment.
