Junior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to support the maintenance and reliability of our plant’s mechanical equipment. The role involves hands‑on work across a range of systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation while collaborating with production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot furnaces, rolling mills, conveyors, cranes, pumps, compressors and related systems.
• Ensure proper lubrication, alignment and calibration of machinery.
• Support production during machine changeovers, shutdowns and emergencies.
• Maintain maintenance logs, checklists and spare‑parts records.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Follow plant safety rules, participate in safety audits and toolbox talks.
• Identify cost‑reduction and equipment‑improvement opportunities.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals and technical documents.
• Coordinate with vendors or contractors for specialized repairs.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving ability and good communication skills.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts as needed.

Required skills

• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
• Hands‑on welding, fabrication and basic machining (preferred).
• Familiarity with TPM, 5S and Kaizen methodologies (advantage).
