Java Backend Lead

About the role

Synechron is looking for a Java Backend Lead in Bengaluru to lead a team of Java developers and deliver high-quality, scalable backend applications and systems. The role covers Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs and databases, and involves turning business requirements into technical solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of Java developers and provide technical direction, mentoring, task guidance and code review support.
• Develop and maintain Java-based applications, Spring Boot apps, microservices, REST APIs and database integrations.
• Analyse business requirements and turn them into technical designs, implementation plans and deliverables.
• Establish coding, testing, documentation, deployment and support practices, and review designs for scalability, performance, reliability, maintainability and security.
• Troubleshoot application, integration, database, deployment and performance issues.
• Take part in Agile and Scrum ceremonies and evaluate and recommend new technologies and practices.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of Java and hands-on experience building and maintaining Java applications.
• Experience with Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs and databases.
• Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and Agile and Scrum.
• Ability to work with the Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST, database, cloud and development tool versions used on the assigned project.

Required skills

• Preferred: containerized microservices, CI/CD, automated testing, API documentation, monitoring and logging tools, event-driven architecture, and advanced Java certifications.
