About the role

Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL) in Malpe, Karnataka, is offering a one‑year ITI Trade Apprenticeship for candidates who have completed an ITI certificate in the designated trades. The apprenticeship follows the Apprentices Act 1961 and provides hands‑on training in a shipyard environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians in daily operations related to diesel mechanics, bench fitting, instrument mechanics, electrical work, and plumbing.
• Participate in routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks under supervision.
• Maintain safety standards and adhere to shipyard protocols.
• Document work performed and report progress to mentors.

Required profile

• Pass in X standard and ITI certificate (National Trade Certificate) in the relevant trade.
• Minimum age of 18 years as of 18‑05‑2026.
• Resident of Karnataka.
• Not previously completed an apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act 1961.
