IP Paralegal & Operations Specialist

About the role

The Corporate Legal team at Ather is looking for an autonomous, highly organized IP Paralegal and Operations Specialist. In this mid‑level position you will independently lead IP operations, manage statutory compliance, financial workflows and vendor ecosystems, and act as the central anchor for the IP team.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor domestic and international statutory timelines (office actions, renewals, filings) and prepare formal documentation such as Form‑1 with inventors.
• Establish, maintain, and audit physical and digital IP repositories for all Indian IP Office documents.
• Drive financial tracking, expenditure monitoring, quarterly provisioning/forecasting and validate complex attorney invoices.
• Prepare and own data delivery for quarterly, annual, statutory and finance audits.
• Lead data validation, cleanup and tool management within core IP management software, including vendor platform onboarding and renewals.
• Ensure alignment between internal trademark trackers and public‑facing assets and design MIS reports for leadership.
• Serve as primary contact for external vendors, manage IT/Admin setup, conduct vendor IT audits and coordinate employee exit checks.
• Manage IP awards data, procure inventor certificates/trophies and plan internal IP events and Ideathons.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B/B.A. LL.B), Commerce, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience as an IP Paralegal, IP Operations Specialist or Legal Administrator.
• Experience in an automotive/technology company or a top‑tier IP law firm is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Comprehensive execution of Indian IP filing processes (Patents, Trademarks, Designs).
• Advanced MS Excel for budget forecasting, complex data modeling and MIS reporting.
• Proficiency with professional IP management software and legal docketing tools.
• Strategic financial tracking, budgeting and expenditure monitoring.
• Data validation, cleanup and platform governance.
