HR Systems Assurance Specialist - SAP Payroll & SuccessFactors

About the role

Glencore is looking for an HR Systems Assurance Specialist in Chennai to provide independent assurance that HR data, payroll and time are accurate, compliant and appropriately controlled across SAP ECC Payroll and SuccessFactors. The role covers data extraction, reconciliation, control testing and reporting; it does not involve building or configuring the systems.

Key responsibilities

• Run recurring data quality checks on SuccessFactors Employee Central and SAP ECC Payroll for completeness, accuracy, validity and consistency.
• Reconcile payroll results across periods (headcount, gross pay, deductions, GL and bank postings) against statutory and company policy requirements.
• Check that SuccessFactors Time Tracking data matches rosters and time rules and flows correctly into ECC wage types.
• Monitor Employee Central to ECC replication and investigate errors, missing records and mismatches.
• Design, run and document control tests, keeping audit-ready evidence and supporting audit trails.
• Follow up with control and process owners on remediation and report recurring issues and trends.
• Explain findings and their impact clearly to HR technology, payroll teams and HR business stakeholders.

Required profile

• 6-10 years of total professional experience, including at least 4 years of hands-on work with SAP HCM/Payroll and SuccessFactors data.
• Degree in Commerce, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience with multicultural, multi-country teams; strong written and spoken English.
• Payroll and time management experience is an advantage.

Required skills

• SAP ECC HCM/Payroll and SuccessFactors, including Story and Table reports.
• Advanced Excel (Power Query, PivotTables, XLOOKUP) and working knowledge of SQL; Power BI and scripting are preferred.
• Understanding of control design, maker-checker controls, segregation of duties, audit trails and data privacy (GDPR and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act).

Candidates may be given a practical screening exercise involving anonymised extracts of Employee Central, timesheets and payroll wage types, with a 45-minute task to spot data issues and suggest the controlling measures that would prevent them.
