Hostess Server – Front-of-House Role

About the role

The Shalimar Hotel is seeking a full-time Hostess Server to join its restaurant team in Mumbai. In this front-of-house position you will be the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a warm welcome and smooth dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests, manage reservations and waiting lists.
• Present menus, answer guest inquiries and coordinate with the kitchen and service staff.
• Take and deliver orders when required, supporting servers during busy periods.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the dining area, including table settings and floor.
• Assist with special events, group bookings and private functions, ensuring service standards are met.
• Handle guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating to management when necessary.

Required profile

• Strong communication abilities and a courteous demeanor.
• Excellent customer-service orientation with empathy and professionalism.
• Team-player attitude, able to collaborate with hosts, servers, kitchen staff and management.
• Previous experience in hospitality, food-and-beverage or front-of-house roles is an advantage.
• Organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality training is a plus.
