Global HR CBS Hubs Business and Data Lead

About the role

This role sits within the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office’s global HR Hub network, supporting more than 12,000 staff across 170+ countries. Based in one of the six regional hubs, the Business and Data Lead will drive financial oversight, data insight and reporting across all HR hubs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial management processes, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance and risk mitigation for a multi‑million‑pound budget.
• Produce monthly finance and budget forensic reports, provide strategic financial advice and support planning, forecasting and risk management.
• Oversee HR Hub budgets (approximately £4.4 m), including pay, medical insurance and recruitment software, and monitor travel expenses.
• Lead the creation and delivery of high‑quality management information, data insights and trend analysis across the six HR hubs.
• Improve data quality, embed digital tools and support operational and strategic decision‑making.
• Manage key supplier relationships such as the Employee Assistance Programme and recruitment system.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, communicating complex information clearly and influencing decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial oversight and budget management within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong background in HR data analysis, reporting and the delivery of management information.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders.
• Experience working with finance partners and HR leaders in a global, multi‑regional environment.
