Financial Data Specialist

About the role

Moody's is seeking a Financial Data Specialist to support credit assessments and data analysis within its Global Capability Center in Bengaluru. The role involves independent delivery of complex credit evaluations and collaboration with analysts and accounting specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver complex credit assessments, including loss given default and speculative‑grade liquidity estimates, and produce high‑quality credit opinions.
• Apply Moody’s rating methodologies to create adjusted data, key indicators, ratios, charts, and graphs that enhance rating accuracy.
• Perform data validation, scrubbing, and analysis of financial reports and official statements to assess issuer performance.
• Partner with analysts and accounting specialists to apply accounting concepts and capture accurate data for ratings.
• Lead projects, drive process enhancements, and review junior team members’ work to maintain quality standards.

Required profile

• 0‑2 years of experience in credit/financial data analysis with knowledge of capital markets; structured finance experience preferred.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business/Accounting or qualified CA with 2+ years experience; CFA/FRM preferred.
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills; detail‑oriented and well‑organized.
