Factory Medical Officer

About the role

The Factory Medical Officer serves as the primary point of contact for all medical-related matters within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for delivering high‑quality medical services, ensuring emergency response readiness, and promoting employee health and safety across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety programs to mitigate workplace hazards and enhance employee well‑being.
• Oversee the delivery of medical services, emergency response protocols, and medical training for staff at all levels.
• Manage medical facilities, equipment, and resources to maintain optimal standards of care.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate health and safety best practices into operational processes.
• Maintain liaison with external medical providers, regulatory bodies, and community resources to support health initiatives and compliance.
• Conduct regular assessments, audits, and reporting to monitor the effectiveness of health and safety initiatives.
• Participate in strategic planning to align the medical function with organizational goals.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS) with AFIH certification.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in the metal, power, manufacturing, or health‑care sectors.
• Strong knowledge of industry regulations, best practices, and emerging trends in occupational health.
• Proven ability to lead health and safety programs and manage medical facilities.
