DevOps Engineer

About the role

Barclays is hiring a DevOps Engineer in Pune, India, within its Global Payment Services business area. The role leads the evolution of infrastructure and deployment pipelines, building and managing robust, scalable and secure infrastructure that delivers digital solutions. The position is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and improve software that provides business, platform and technology capabilities for customers and colleagues.
• Deliver high-quality software using industry-aligned languages, frameworks and tools, keeping code scalable, maintainable and performance-optimized.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers on requirements, solution strategies and integration.
• Take part in code reviews, share knowledge and stay up to date with technology trends.
• Follow secure coding practices and implement effective unit testing.

Required profile

• Experience with OpenShift cloud and virtual machines.
• Experience with security scanning tools such as Sonar, Wiz and PRISMA.
• Experience with IBM MQ, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines including Safes, Docker, Kubernetes and OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with ELK/Observability tools.
• Other highly valued skills: infrastructure patterns, security around infrastructure, Prometheus or Grafana, Chef or Ansible.
• Ability to assess on risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology skills.
