Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Mesh is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join its team building the foundation of a global crypto payments network. The role spans backend systems and user-facing applications, working with engineering, product and design teams to build secure, scalable financial experiences. Candidates based in Bangalore are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs.
• Work closely with Azure cloud services for deployment and scalability.
• Test thoroughly, debug and resolve software defects promptly.
• Contribute to code reviews, architectural decisions and system design.
• Optimize performance and scalability of backend systems for large data volumes.
• Build crypto-first, secure products for activities such as payments and transfers.

Required profile

• 5-7 years of professional experience as a Backend Software Engineer, preferably in fintech/crypto.
• Security-first mindset with knowledge of AuthN, AuthZ, SAML, API security and encryption.
• Understanding of crypto concepts such as blockchains, RPCs and self-custody wallets.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Backend languages such as C#, Java, Scala, Go.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

In-office expectation: employees in the Bangalore hub are expected to work from the office at least 40% of the time, about two days per week, though this may vary by role and team.
