Design Engineer

About the role

Burckhardt Compression is looking for a motivated Design Engineer to join its Pune team. You will be responsible for creating and managing detailed mechanical drawings for casting, forging, machining, assembly and tubing components using advanced 3D CAD tools.

Key responsibilities

• Model and draft casting, forging, machining, assembly and tubing drawings using UG‑NX.
• Perform preliminary checking of drawings and ensure compliance with international standards (API, ASME, ASTM, DIN).
• Manage drawing data in PLM Teamcenter and ERP system SAP.
• Prepare specifications, procedures and bills of material.
• Issue drawings to other departments and maintain documentation per ISO guidelines.
• Support order execution, resolve non‑conformances, field complaints and contribute to new product development.
• Adhere to product standardisation, value‑engineering and IMS (QMS + EMS) procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with good academic record.
• Proficiency in English; German is a plus.
• Experience in reciprocating compressors or rotating equipment is advantageous.

• UG‑NX (or comparable 3D CAD software).
• Teamcenter PLM.
• SAP ERP.
• MS Office.
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Knowledge of API, ASME, ASTM, DIN standards.
