Deputy Manager – Application Technology Rinse‑off

About the role

The Deputy Manager – Application Technology Rinse‑off will lead the development of application‑technology competencies for rinse‑off personal‑care products such as bar soap, hair oils and shampoos. Based at BASF’s Innovation Campus in Navi Mumbai, the role supports regional marketing, technical training and key customer projects across South Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Design and conduct laboratory experiments for formulation development and performance evaluation of rinse‑off solutions.
• Collaborate with regional marketing to create launch data, promotion kits and new marketing concepts for BASF’s portfolio.
• Provide technical support for BASF ingredients used in rinse‑off applications throughout South Asia.
• Analyse results, prepare technical reports and share knowledge across the region.
• Perform competitor analysis and benchmark performance.
• Transfer global launch technologies to the South Asian market and support innovation projects with key accounts.
• Organise and deliver internal and external seminars, workshops and training sessions.
• Maintain laboratory instruments, ensure a safe working environment and comply with EHS regulations.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience in personal‑care application technology within a laboratory setting.
• Fluent English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
