Deli Assistant – Full‑time

About the role

The Deli Assistant will work on Centra’s busy deli counter, preparing high‑quality hot and cold products while ensuring every customer leaves satisfied. This is a full‑time, on‑site position at the Ballinteer Road store.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare customer orders across all fresh‑food areas, including sandwiches, rolls, hot dishes and sliced meats.
• Cook, assemble and display deli items throughout the day, maintaining portion‑control standards.
• Keep all fresh‑food counters clean, well‑stocked and visually appealing at all times.
• Share product knowledge, recipes and personal recommendations with shoppers.
• Handle customer queries promptly and professionally, following store policy.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Previous experience in a retail or food‑service environment is an advantage.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced setting and multitask under pressure.
• A genuine passion for food and the ability to inspire shoppers.

Required skills

• HACCP training or knowledge of food‑safety standards (desirable but not mandatory).
