Data & BI Engineering Consultant – Banking

About the role

A global consulting firm is supporting a leading bank in strengthening its data infrastructure, management reporting and operational governance. The consultant leads the development of data pipelines and reporting dashboards, integrating core banking, General Ledger (GL) and CRM data so that senior management gets reliable, timely insights. The role improves data quality, automates reporting and strengthens data access controls. It is full-time and on-site in Mumbai, India, for 12 months, with possible extensions of 6+6 months.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage data pipelines that extract and integrate data from Finacle, GL and CRM systems into a centralised reporting data mart.
• Develop senior management dashboards for governance, performance monitoring and operational processes using Power BI or equivalent tools.
• Automate daily data refreshes, data quality checks and reporting workflows.
• Set up data validation and access control mechanisms to ensure data accuracy, consistency and security.
• Work with the bank's IT, data and business teams to turn reporting requirements into scalable data solutions.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, BI or analytics, preferably in banking, financial services, fintech or IT services.
• Experience with core banking systems, especially Finacle, and extracting data from General Ledger and CRM platforms.
• Experience leading data engineering or BI projects, ideally at Project Manager, Director or equivalent level.
• B.E., B.Tech or MCA qualification.
