Culinarian

About the role

The Culinarian will join the food‑and‑beverage team at a Marriott property in Pune, supporting daily kitchen operations. This full‑time, non‑management position focuses on preparing, cooking, and presenting food to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing.
• Cook and assemble dishes according to recipes, presentation standards and food‑preparation checklists.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Test food for doneness, monitor quality, and ensure correct portioning.
• Set up and break down work stations, clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
• Check and maintain proper temperature of appliances and food.
• Follow all company safety, security and hygiene policies, reporting any issues to the manager.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of related culinary or food‑preparation experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and carry objects up to 25 lb.
