Controls Systems Engineer – Model Based Design (MBD) – E‑Machine Control

About the role

We are looking for a Controls Systems Engineer specialized in Model‑Based Design (MBD) to develop and optimise E‑Machine control algorithms for automotive applications. You will work within Bosch’s automotive software team in Bengaluru, delivering high‑performance control solutions for electric machines.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and tune classical and modern control algorithms using Mathworks tools.
• Implement field‑oriented control (FOC) including d‑axis and q‑axis current controllers.
• Create PI/PID current regulators for diverse requirements.
• Develop torque‑demand arbitration from driver inputs to motor torque set‑points.
• Model and simulate PMSM, IPMSM and EESM machines for controller design.
• Coordinate torque handling between HV battery, inverter and e‑machine.
• Define test specifications, ensure code coverage, and perform model validation (MIL, SIL).
• Review and extend test cases to achieve 100 % coverage.
• Support automation using MATLAB scripting and Python.

Required profile

• B.Tech/BE or M.Tech in Electrical/Electronics or related engineering.
• Experience with control system development for automotive electric machines.

Required skills

• MATLAB, Simulink, TargetLink, Embedded Coder.
• Python programming.
• Field‑oriented control (FOC) and PI/PID controller design.
• Model‑Based Design, MIL and SIL testing.
