Commis – Full‑time Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis will support the kitchen team at our Pune hotel by preparing ingredients, cooking under supervision, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. This full‑time position is ideal for candidates with basic culinary training who are eager to develop their skills in a reputable hospitality brand.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients: portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix foods.
• Cook and assemble dishes according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Prepare cold foods and handle food storage safely.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Test food for doneness and monitor quality throughout preparation.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain proper receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives and equipment.
• Check and record appliance and food temperatures.
• Follow all company safety, security and hygiene policies; report any hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related kitchen or food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation techniques (chopping, portioning, weighing, measuring, mixing).
• Cooking according to recipes and quality standards.
• Food safety and hygiene practices.
