About the role
The Commis will support the kitchen team at JW Marriott Goa by preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This entry‑level position is ideal for individuals with a passion for hospitality and basic culinary skills.
Key responsibilities
- Portion, chop, wash, peel, and store fruits, vegetables and other ingredients.
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
- Prepare and cook food following quality, presentation, and safety standards.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely.
- Monitor food temperatures and test doneness.
- Set up and break down work stations, and serve food in proper portions.
- Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives, and equipment.
- Follow company safety policies and report any hazards.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related kitchen or food‑service experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and work in a fast‑paced environment.
Required skills
- Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
- Food portioning, measuring and basic cooking techniques.
- Food safety, hygiene and temperature monitoring.
