Chef Trainer

About the role

Spoon, an on‑demand home‑cooking service based in Bangalore, is looking for a Chef Trainer to lead the development and mentorship of its network of home cooks. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on maintaining high culinary standards and ensuring a consistent, safe, and delightful food experience for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, plan, and deliver training sessions for home cooks covering recipes, plating, and hygiene.
• Assess cooks' skill levels, provide constructive feedback, and track progress.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, kitchen operations, and professional standards.
• Monitor customer expectations for food quality, hygiene, and professionalism, and intervene when needed.

Required profile

• Culinary expertise with strong recipe development and food plating abilities.
• Deep knowledge of major Indian regional cuisines (Delhi/Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, UP, Bihar/Jharkhand, West Bengal/Odisha) and popular Indian‑Chinese, Continental, and Cantonese dishes.
• Proven experience in staff training, mentoring, and skill assessment.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of food safety regulations, kitchen operations, and hygiene standards.
• Passion for culinary arts and staying current with emerging food trends.
• Certification or degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred.
• Track record in a chef leadership or training role is a strong advantage.
