Cashier – Full-time Branch Banking

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. The role involves accurate processing of deposits, withdrawals, and other instruments while providing courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Maintain and update inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, end‑of‑day reconciliation and report in the Branch report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash custody with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, promote cross‑selling opportunities and educate them on alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with transaction turn‑around times, banking regulations and internal policies.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slip accuracy for audit purposes.
